Disability History Month, running from 22 November to 22 December, focuses on the history of equality and human rights for people with disabilities.

The 2016 theme is ‘Disability and Language’ focusing on the language we use to describe disabled people and the language disabled people use to express themselves.  Further information on can be found on the Disability History Month website which includes an on-line pack on the history and treatment of people with learning difficulties.

Appropriately Human Rights Day on 10 December falls within Disability History with this year’s slogan “Stand up for someone’s rights today!”

Some local organisations that also provide useful information include disAbility Cornwall, Hearing Loss Cornwall , iSight Cornwall and Cornwall People First.
