Inclusion Cornwall Steering Group meeting

13th September 2016

Our steering group meeting this month was well attended and gave us the opportunity to discuss our current and future activities as well as our priorities and focus for the next few months.

Key points from the meeting were as follows:

  • Well placed at County Hall for contacts and joint working to develop
  • After a summer of consultation a set of clear priorities have emerged for inclusion in Cornwall
  • David Sillifant the new Chair of IC stated  “our primary role is to challenge when systems of organisations don’t work”
  • IC will continue to focus on breaking down silos and challenging services to support the most vulnerable, particularly those with severe and multiple disadvantage
  • IC will take forward the priorities people have identified (residents and partners)
    • Mental health and wellbeing
    • Skills and education
    • Moving away from poverty
    • Housing
