Rethinking Diversity conference great success

This conference, held at Wheal Martyn near St Austell and organised by Cornwall Museums Partnership with funding from Arts Council England, explored what diversity means for smaller and rural museums and welcomed delegates from around the county.

Andrea GilbertAndrea Gilbert, Inclusion Cornwall Manager, spoke at the event about equality, diversity and inclusion in Cornwall, including how, as a community, we ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to live full lives and get involved in community activities. Andrea highlighted examples such as the Hall for Cornwall’s Community Club which welcomed everyone. She commented: “I greatly enjoyed the event in particular discussing how to make our museums across Cornwall more inclusive.  The delegates were extremely positive and keen to understand how to encourage those who rarely or never step inside a museum.”
