We have attempted to collect here a selection of useful data sources around various aspects of need and populations, to support our colleagues compiling reports and funding bids to continue their work. Cornwall-Specific
Cornwall Council has an evidence-base covering a broad range of topics, the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment. This is updated quarterly, and looks at local health & wellbeing needs, and inequalities of the local population.

2011 Census has been removed to the Archive, and you can find it here, although it’s not clearly labelled. At-a-glance Cornwall data can be found here.
The 2021 Census data will be released from 2022.

The Centre for Progressive Policy has a number of reports and an annual conference looking at inclusion.
The Government’s Indices of Deprivation are published annually, collecting together all data and documents in one place. You can find the current and historical data on the Gov.uk website.

In the South West, the 2011 Census showed 91.8% of residents are White British, compared to 80.5% in England and Wales as a whole.
The Home Office launched their Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2018 – 2025 Inclusive by Instinct. The Home Office states “We will challenge ourselves to do all we can to ensure that Diversity and Inclusion is central to everything that we do by 2025. To ensure that we are moving in the right direction, we will formally evaluate our progress against Inclusive by Instinct in 2020.”
