Village Works Extended to September 2022

Inclusion Cornwall’s ground-breaking project has been extended to September 2022, giving even more opportunities for local people to get involved, and take steps towards employment or training.

For people in Helston and the Lizard, Bude and Camelford areas, this project has been achieving extraordinary things, helping people turn their lives around and giving them the skills and confidence they need to move towards employment.

This January we are running a new awareness campaign, via Facebook and Twitter, that is intended to draw in new potential clients, who may not even know that there is support available for them.

Smart new artwork, co-ordinated by Hannah Danson of HD Words, will be directed to the Facebook pages of those in the Village Works target areas, who are most likely to be interested in the support we can offer.

We are asking professionals and volunteers working in the areas around Camelford, Bude and Helston and the Lizard Peninsula to be aware of the support we can offer, and bear it in mind when talking to the people they work with.

Our support is open to anyone of working age, whether they are ready to work or not yet. We can help with even non-work-related items such as washing machines, and food, where the household is in need, as well as transport to job interviews, support to become self-employed and training courses. For some, social activities and confidence-building events such as volunteering can be very valuable, so that forms part of our programme as well. We can offer one-to-one coaching sessions for people who need some additional input to overcome barriers that exist on the route to employment, and most of our activities can be carried out online, as well as in person.
