Volunteering at Polventon #2

Village Works once again visited The Polventon Care Home in St Keverne, having arranged another volunteering event for our Customers. With the onset of winter the gathered team were invited to assist with weeding a large border surrounding the residents’ patio.

With magnificent views over to Falmouth and St Mawes as a backdrop, the weather surprised all.  It was a lovely day throughout. Crisp and clear, the conditions were perfect for the small band of volunteers to get to work.

The results speak for themselves…..not only was thorough weeding done, there was also mulch  spread over the ground to keep it as we left it.

Tim thoroughly enjoyed his activity (above), seemed inspired by the company and grew in confidence as the day progressed. Laura also found time to weed around the bird bath and cleared out the water for the birds and Caroline did her bit too.

With pasties for lunch, courtesy of Village Works, and refreshments provided by Sam the Manager at Polventon, this event was a great success, that was beneficial to all involved. Everyone agreed it would be great to get stuck in again soon.
